Ben’s Entertainment Blog: Sonic the Hedgehog’s New Trailer

If you grew up in the 80s and 90s, chances are you’ve played Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega platforms. Although they’re not around today, Sega provided me with some incredible childhood memories: Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and of course Sonic the Hedgehog. The drowning music from the water memories will never leave my nightmares.

You may remember the original Sonic trailer that came out a few months ago and how it got heavily criticized online because of how… weird Sonic looked. Fortunately for Sonic fans, the studio listened and has just released a fresh trailer with a completely reanimated Sonic the hedgehog. I’ve got to say, my hopes are up for this! Is it likely to be the best movie of 2020? Definitely not, but having a large production company listen to fans and remake something because of it is a huge step in the right direction for the entertainment world. We’ve seen Disney remake half a dozen animated classics at this point. Be honest, do you think they’re as good as the originals? No, they aren’t. But because we (myself included) are willing to pay for it, they don’t care.

Paramount is taking a new approach by listen to fan feedback and truly catering the entertainment for the viewer. That’s a huge win right!? Regardless of how good the movie will be, I can’t wait to see it for nostalgia, and to support a company that listens to fans. Here’s the new trailer, let us know what you think! Are you going to see it?
