Alright I’ll admit it… I don’t read as much as I should. I’m the type of person that picks up a book and if it doesn’t hook me in the first few chapters I’m done with it. I love creative writing and story telling, but the action of just sitting down and starring into an open book for hours and hours is just not something I have ever enjoyed.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s definitely some books I’ve enjoyed like “And then there were none” and “Ready Player One” both hooked me from start to finish. It’s just that I have an addictive personality and if I find something that I enjoy I never stop until I’ve finished it. Chores and other productive activities get pushed to the back-burner when I find a more enjoyable activity.
This all changed when I discovered that Hoopla (the free library app) carries audio books. I can now put my headphones in and be transported to another world yet still have access of my eyes and hands to do other activities for free! I’ve listened to books from the Jack Reacher series (intense thrillers), and I’m currently listening to the Superpowereds series (super heroes). Books have now become something that I look forward too and can do on the move at the gym or doing chores around the house. It’s amazing!
I can’t wait to see what new worlds I discover! If you’ve got any exciting audio book recommendations, let me know in the comments!
