I am the absolute worst at living moment by moment. Minute by minute. Second by second. Sometimes I just need to slow down and and stop thinking ahead three steps to enjoy the moment that I’m in. This awareness is something that is learned and hard to come by. It seems like everyday we are either thinking about things in our past or trying to plan our future. I find myself asking…
WHY CAN I NOT BE HAPPY NOW? IN THIS MOMENT.
The answer to that question is- I can. I just choose not to. So how do you get to this level of awareness? I think it takes time for one. This is not something that is going to happen overnight. You have to be patient with yourself in knowing that no new skills come easy to anyone. Journaling helps immensely as well. When you have a goal, sometimes it helps to write down steps that you can take to achieve that goal. Make a list. LISTS ARE GREAT! What will it take? What would help you move forward? Finally, I think inviting others along to help you with your cause is always great.
ACCOUNTABILITY IS KEY!
Find some friends that want to acheive the same things that you do and help each other. For myself, I find that it helps to BREATHE. Telling myself that it’s okay to breathe and actually HEALTHY to take time to do so!
