Keep Your Dogs Safe During Fireworks

It is no secret that dogs fear fireworks, unfortunately, they are unavoidable this time of year. Which means we need to be extra diligent in taking care of our four legged best friends.

Firecrackers come without warning and the combination of the loud noises and flashing lights that sound and look different each time startle dogs.

Plus, they come at different intervals, so dogs can’t get used to them.

It is recommended that you keep your dog indoors during fireworks, even if they are an outside dog. You may find products that help in other anxiety-inducing situations will help here such as calming wraps.

If your dog is crate-trained, make his crate available, as that’s probably already a safe space for him. If not, put him in a bathroom or other small room with music or white noise to help drown out the boom of fireworks. Bringing his bed, blankets and toys into the room can make him feel more comfortable.

May you all have a safe and happy 4th of July
