Ben’s Entertainment Blog: Solo – A Star Wars Story *No Spoilers*

The latest action packed fun Star Wars movie has hit theaters! Should you see it? Well it depends… do you like Star Wars? If so, you’ll probably like it.

Ever wonder what Han Solo was like as a young man? Well I’d watch a New Hope because he’s young in that too. But if you ever wondered what Han Solo was like shortly before a New Hope, then this is the movie for you. Solo: A Star Wars Story, introduces new Characters like Qi’ra, played by Emilia Clark, and Beckett, played by Woody Harrelson. These characters along with other classic Star Wars characters go on a quest to help answer some questions about Han Solo’s past. How did Han Solo get the Millennium Falcon? How did Han Solo Meet Chewbacca? What does Han Solo sound like speaking Wookie? That last one may not have been a question that you had, but it’ll definitely be answered!

Despite some negative press regarding ticket sales over Memorial Day weekend, Solo: A Star Wars Story has been pretty well received. It’s received a 7.2 on IMDB and a 70% on Rotten Tomatoes (so far). Personal opinions? This movie was kind of meh. I’d say Solo: a Star Wars movie is a fun movie that answered questions we didn’t have and happens to take place in the Star Wars universe. Since this movie is a prequel and we know how Han Solo turns out, I never really felt worried for his character. There were moments in the movie that they wanted you to feel like something bad could happen, but Chewbacca and Han were there and they survive through this so there’s nothing to worry about.

Overall it was a pretty fun movie though. If you’ve got children and want to introduce them to the Star Wars Universe, then this will be a great movie to watch as a family. There’s lots of references, jokes and callbacks to keep Star Wars fans of all types entertained.

Ben’s Rating: B – A fun yet somewhat forgettable Star Wars movie.
