The Kokomo Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting an additional open tryout for lifeguarding positions for the 2022 summer season at the Kokomo Beach Family Aquatic Center.
All lifeguards are required to be certified in Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR-PR/AED training. These courses are offered through the YMCA. Contact the YMCA at 765-457-4447 for session dates, times and fees.
This additional Kokomo Beach lifeguard tryout will be held at Kokomo Beach (802 W Park Ave, Kokomo, IN 46901) on Thursday, May 19th beginning at 11a.m. Those trying out will need to make sure to bring a swimsuit and towel, as there will be a water test as well as a written test.
All lifeguards hired to work at Kokomo Beach must be at least 16 years of age by opening day (May 21st). All lifeguarding positions begin with the rate of $12 an hour.
