Kokomo YMCA Update

Upcoming Membership Draft Reminder- 5/8

As a nonprofit dedicated to keeping our community healthy, safe and thriving for all, Y members like you make our impact possible. We wanted to connect and let you know about what’s ahead in reopening the Y, give you a chance to have your voice heard and also remind you of options for your membership.

Thank you for staying with us during these incredibly challenging times. Thanks to your support, the Y was able to provide free virtual wellness options to the entire Howard County community, take on vital senior outreach and offer emergency child care to essential personnel.

The past several months have been so challenging for all of us and we thank you for doing your part to help stop the spread of coronavirus – especially for the benefit of our most vulnerable neighbors. We are thrilled to announce that we are taking steps to reopen our facility and reactivate key programs in the very near future. We will be so happy to welcome you back to the Y!

As we prepare to reopen our doors, please be assured that your safety – and the safety of all our members, program participants, staff and volunteers – is our number one priority. We’re following guidelines from health experts and local officials to ensure that our facilities meet the highest standards for hygiene and safety, and we have modified our policies and programs to facilitate safe social distancing practices. We will share more on those in the coming days.

And while we continue to plan, we want to hear from you. We have designed a quick, 7-question survey to make sure your voices are heard.

Your partnership is the driving force to community impact, and your continued support will sustain our ability to provide critical programs and services — but we know everyone’s situation is unique. We want to remind you again of your options regarding your membership.

We wanted to remind you of your options for Y Membership:

  • You may continue your membership dues as regularly scheduled. After the Y reopens, we will credit your account for the amount of time the Y has closed — allowing you to use that credit on programs, membership, or even snacks from our grab-and-go cafe at a later date.
  • You may place your membership on hold for your next payment, and no dues will be withdrawn from your account. We will look forward to welcoming you back when we resume normal operations!

Submission must be made before 11:59 p.m. May 13, if your membership drafts for the 15th of the month, and 11:59 p.m. May 29 for membership withdrawals on the 1st of the month. The form is linked at the bottom of this email.

A quick note: If your membership is paid through your insurance company or your employer, there is no need for you to choose either option.

If you have any questions or there is anything further the Y can do, please reach out to us at info@kokomoymca.org, and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.

Thank you for being such a vital part of our Y family. We miss you and look forward to seeing you again when we reopen our doors.

Together, we’re a better us.
