Happy January friends!
This is the time of year for goals and resolutions and I have set a few. The usual, eat healthier, make it to the gym more and this year I am adding a reading goal. I love to read and I rarely make enough time for it, so I’m taking the lead from a few friends and setting a book goal of 30 books. I am counting audio books towards the goal, because it’s my goal and I can do whatever I want. 🙂 I am off to a strong start, because January.

The World’s Largest Man: A Memoir- Harrison Scott Key
I listened to this audio book on my drive back to Nebraska and I loved it. I think I mostly adored Harrison Scott Key as he narrated the book about the relationship between him and his father. It will make you laugh, but like any life there were some very dark parts where I wasn’t sure if his father had any redeemable qualities, but of course he did.
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F&%K- Mark Manson
I listed to this audio book in 1 sitting. All 5ish hours, all at once. It was a perfect “self helpy” type book for someone with my personality type. I struggle to say “no” to people, and I know it. I am trying to implement a few of the ideas from this book into my life. So far so good. If you are someone who has a tendency to take on too much physically and emotionally, give it a read or a listen.
Little Fires Everywhere- Celeste Ng
A friend recommended this book to me nearly 2 years ago, I bought it & it had been sitting on my bookshelf since. I opened it mid November and read a few pages and then it sat on my coffee table until late last week. I popped it back open again and got sucked in. Without giving anything away, it boils down to a complicated story about family. The family that is blood and then the family that is formed from love. The ending made me anxious, you’ll just have to read it to find out why!
