SINGER ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR HOWARD COUNTY COUNCIL, DISTRICT #2
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Dwight Singer announced his candidacy for Howard County Council, District 2. Singer previously represented District 2 through some of the most challenging fiscal times in county history.

Dwight Singer wants to return to the Howard County Council because, “Howard County has reached economic, social, and governmental crossroads that require skilled and experienced leadership to move forward during these difficult times. I will bring my knowledge of the Council, experience working as an executive at Chrysler Corporation, and my practice of working with people from all walks of life to the Second District Council seat.”

Singer further stated, “Government can no longer solve its budgetary concerns by merely passing on increased expenses to the hard-pressed residents and taxpayers of this county. An effective government will look for creative ways to meet its many obligations in a manner that will not stifle economic growth nor overburden taxpayers living on reduced or fixed income budgets. It is time that government conforms to the same restrictions that individuals must do on a daily basis and live within its means. I intend to bring renewed vigor to analyzing the county budget and look for every possible opportunity to reduce waste and to provide utmost efficiency.”

Dwight Singer is all about being a public servant in his community. Singer presently serves as Chairman of the Howard County Republican Steering Committee. Singer also serves as the President of the City of Firsts Automotive Heritage Museum, as a member of the Howard Regional Health Systems Foundation Board, and the Indiana University-Kokomo Advisory Board. In addition, Singer is a member of the board of the Howard County Historical Society. Dwight Singer serves as co-chair of a greeter/usher team at Oak Brook Community Church. Dwight Singer is a well known advocate for the youth in Howard County working as a volunteer coach, athletic official, and mentor.

Dwight Singer is married to his wife Linda. They have two children and five grandchildren. Singer is a lifetime Howard County resident.
