H1N1 News Release from the Howard County Health Department
Yes, it is still out there in our community !
Although our H1N1 flu activity has declined in Indiana in recent weeks, cases of the novel H1N1 influenza, including cases of severe disease, continue to occur.
The epidemiology of H1N1 over the months ahead is unknown, but another rise in incidence, as occurred during the winter of the 1957-58 pandemic, remains possible. Vaccination remains the best way to prevent influenza infection and the related hospitalizations and deaths.
H1N1 Vaccine is readily available now for all ages and it is especially recommended for all those who are at risk of developing complications from an illness.
H1N1 is readily available at your personal physician’s office and at local pharmacies for a nominal charge.
HOWEVER, FREE H1N1 Vaccine will again be offered by appointment, at the Howard County Health Department, 120 E. Mulberry Street, on:
Tuesday, February 9 from 8:30 – 12:30pm
Tuesday, February 23 from 8:30 – 11:15 and 1:00 – 2:00 pm
Please call the HCHD at 456-2408 for an appointment.
