Final Leaf Collection Starts Monday
City leaf collection crews will begin making their final pass through Kokomo on Monday, November 30th. Leaf collection will begin in the south side of town working to the north side.
Residents are reminded that leaves are to be raked to the curb and not placed into the street as this can create flooding and hazardous driving conditions.
The Department of Public Maintenance and Refuse has suggestions to make the final collection more efficient.
- Rake leaves to the curb but not in the street(leaves in the street can stop up the street inlets and cause street flooding)
- Do not mix limbs or garden waste with loose leaves. The Leaf Vacuum cannot pick up limbs or garden waste. Leaves mixed with limbs will not be picked up until time permits
- Place only loose leaves at the curbside (no bagged leaves)
- Residents may deliver bagged leaves to the Yard Waste Collection Center at 1100 S. Dixon Rd; however, plastic bags must be emptied at the Collection Center.
- The Collection Center hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Saturday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Closed Thursday’s.
